Friends and Fun
by Theresa Y. on Sep 29, 2019

Our stay at Bagatelle was a great experience. We had six couples who have been friends or 40 years come together for the week. The house had enough bedrooms and bathrooms so we were not on top of each other. The outside porch overlooking the ocean was the best spot in all of Bar Harbor, we spent a lot of time on the porch! We had four deer that came within feet of us and loved the bushes in front of the house. The walk to down was not bad and we did it many times. I would suggest you go walk the marginal way, it was breath taking. Acardia Naional Park is a must do, go along the Park Loop road, there are many parking lots where you can stop and walk around, take pictures and see the beautiful sites!

My family rented Bagatelle for my mother's 70th birthday. It was perfect beyond words. Waking up every morning to that beautiful view on the water and drinking coffee on the porch was my favorite part. The house is charming and historic and never felt crowded even though we had 11 people. We were able to walk to Bar Harbor and ride our bikes to Acadia. Thank you for a great week!

Bar Harbor's village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park's Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as 'Bar Harbor' are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes' drive to the village center.
