Sea Gypsy has great karma, and is truly a feel-good cottage that guests are sure to love. Superbly sited on Western Bay in Trenton, this terrific shorefront getaway with stairs to the beach offers a living room fireplace and wonderful views of Mount Desert Island and the mountains of Acadia National Park from nearly every room. Whatever the season, this upscale home makes an ideal vacation getaway with a shorefront setting just three miles from the head of Mount Desert island and all of the treasures that Acadia National Park and the Island villages have to offer. Parties of up to 4 people will have use of two master bedroom suites located in the main part of the house and parties of 5 to 8 will have access to the lower level with third bedroom bath and family room. The entire home is luxuriously outfitted from top to bottom, with fine attention paid to every detail.

FIRST FLOOR: Enjoy breakfast in Sea Gypsy's cozy nook, or at the island bar, both offering seating for three. The well-stocked Kitchen features granite countertops and hi-end stainless steel appliances and wine cooler. Laundry facilities sleekly located in the kitchen as well as a discrete folding ironing board accessible in kitchen drawer. With cathedral ceilings and plenty of windows showcasing the shore, the home's Great Room boasts a comfortable seating area with stone fireplace, and a Dining Area with a large table for up to 8 people. Also on the main level is a Master Suite with Queen bed that enjoys access to a covered deck with private entrance and Bathroom with shower only. A tidy Office completes the first floor.

SECOND FLOOR: Upstairs is a second Master Suite with King bed and private balcony. Here one also finds a cozy Sitting Area designed for great air flow with cross ventilation, a Full Bathroom with separate shower and deep-soaking air-jet bath tub and flat screen television.

LOWER LEVEL: A finished basement offers a 12' x 24' Family Room with flat screen TV as well as a third Bedroom with two Full beds and a full Bathroom with combined tub and shower and double vanity. You may rent this space for an additional fee, but it is NOT included in the rental if you're a party of 4 or less paying base rate for use of the two primary bedrooms and baths only.

OUTDOOR SPACES: Small deck with high-top table for four, bar cart and charcoal grill. Separate partially covered private decks with chairs off the first and second floor bedrooms.

AMENITIES: High-end kitchen appliances include a downdraft cooking stove. Cable TV and high-speed Internet. Radiant floor heating. Various ceiling fans as well as window air conditioning units in each of the two upper bedrooms and those who pay for use of the finished basement area will find the lower level family room is equipped with a central air type system.

Known as the 'Gateway to Acadia,' Trenton and Lamoine enjoy mainland proximity to Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park, with access to the expansive Union River Bay and Mt. Desert Narrows. Home to several local lobster pounds and close to Ellsworth dining, many homes in this area enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Desert's peaks, and swimming is generally warmer in the bay waters. Lamoine's public sandy beach, Trenton Community Trails, Wild Acadia Fun Park, and the Stanwood Bird Sanctuary are just a few of its attractions!



The house was perfect and had the loveliest views. Great proximity to the park, Bar Harbor and many wonderful lobster pounds. We can't wait to go back.

Leisure - family vacation

We could not have been more comfortable at the Sea Gypsy! It was so well appointed! It's exterior view is spectacular. The home itself is beautiful and full of interesting artwork. We preferred its location to Bar Harbor proper, as it is less crowded, with less traffic. Highly recommend it!

I have stayed at many properties in and around Bar Harbor. This was, by far, our most favorite house. Every single thing you could need or want. Beautiful furnishings, gorgeous water view and access, and plenty of room for everyone and spacious for dinner guests. We have family and friends in the area and it was a delight to show off this gorgeous rental home!

The house was amazing! Everything was top of the line and there was not an item that we needed. The decor was beautiful. House was spotless. Plenty of room for the six of us to spread out. Views of the water were wonderful. House was located in a great spot for trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia.

Family vacation

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sea Gypsy. It is so clean and well equipped. Delighted that we could bring our dog. Great location for our first time in Maine. Enjoyed kayaking the bay at Sea Gypsy where we saw many seals! Loved hiking & biking in Acadia. Thank you Gordon’s for the helpful notes regarding the house, restaurants, etc. Wonderful experience for our 3 - 20 something boys, my husband and me. Thank you!!
