Born in Alaska and raised in upstate New York, Anna found her way to Mount Desert Island after living in Boston and longing for a change of pace. She first came to the island in 2023 for a summer position with Acadia National Park and quickly realized she had found a place to call home.

Since making MDI home, Anna has immersed herself in the community while serving as General Manager of Quietside Snacks, a year-round comfort food destination operating from a restored 1960s Airstream.

Working alongside her partner, Henry Helmke, she has helped grow the business while building meaningful relationships throughout the island.

Anna began her career with The Knowles Company as a Summer Sales Associate, gaining invaluable experience through mentorship while learning every aspect of the business. Today, she combines that foundation with her firsthand knowledge of Mount Desert Island to help buyers and sellers navigate one of Maine’s most distinctive real estate markets.

Having built her own life and business relationships on Mount Desert Island, Anna offers clients not only local knowledge but an authentic understanding of the people, neighborhoods, and lifestyle that make this community so special. She approaches every transaction with patience, integrity, and genuine care, recognizing that buying or selling a home is one of life’s most important decisions.

Committed to giving back, Anna helped establish Quietside’s Hanging Sandwich Program, a community initiative that provides free meals to anyone experiencing food insecurity through a simple pay-it-forward model.

She also serves on the YWCA Executive Board of Directors, volunteers with Island Connections by delivering groceries to elderly neighbors, and participates in a local women’s cold-water swimming group, combining her love of the outdoors with fundraising for charitable causes.

When she’s away from work, Anna enjoys reading in a hammock, exploring MDI, sharing great meals with family and friends, and spending time with Henry and their rescue dog, Stelle, on the quiet side of the island.
