In 2019, Bonnie made a significant transition from teaching in Fairfax County, Virginia, to a full-time career in real estate earning licenses in Virginia, Maryland, and DC within her first four months. She quickly built a thriving career at one of the top brokerages in the DC metro area, achieving over $45 million in sales as an independent agent and as part of one of the region’s leading teams.
Bonnie is known for her warm, relatable, and trustworthy approach. She understands the significance of buying or selling a home and is deeply committed to patiently guiding her clients through the process. Whether working with first-time buyers or seasoned investors, Bonnie listens attentively to her clients’ needs and crafts personalized strategies to help them achieve their goals. Her dedication to making each transaction smooth, informative, and stress-free is evident in everything she does.
Bonnie holds a B.A. in History and Russian and Eastern European Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A semester abroad in Budapest ignited her passion for travel, which has since taken her to over 38 countries. Eager to instill that same sense of adventure in her two children, she prioritized travel while navigating the challenges of single motherhood on a teacher’s salary. During a family trip to Bar Harbor in 2020, she wrote in her journal, “Someday I want to buy a house here.” Just six weeks later, she found herself in front of her new vacation home, purchased sight unseen. Since then, she has enjoyed sharing her beloved “Mainestay Cottage” with family and friends and operating it as a successful vacation rental in Downeast Maine. With each visit, her love for the area grew, culminating in her move to Maine full-time in the fall of 2024.
As she joins Knowles, Bonnie is eager to meld her professional expertise with her personal experience as a vacation rental owner, ensuring she can effectively serve both local and out-of-state clients. She is well-positioned to offer insider knowledge on the local market and expert advice on successfully navigating the complexities of vacation rental ownership.
When she’s not helping clients find their way home, you can find Bonnie hiking with her dog, Ruthie, experimenting with new recipes, or curled up by the fire planning her next getaway.
