In 2024, he transitioned out of an ownership role and retired from brokerage in December 2025. Keating Pepper’s long-time business partner, Jane McCombs-Beaman, remains with The Knowles Company as a senior broker in the role of Designee and Executive Administrative Assistant.
Keating has vacationed on Mount Desert Island since he was a young child, with his family settling full-time in Somesville, Maine, in 1959. He continues to reside in his original family home with his wife, Kim. Keating enjoys sailing the coast of Maine on his Hinckley 41.
A dedicated member of the Mount Desert Island community, Keating has served as a trustee of the YMCA for 22 years, supporting programs that enhance child development.
Keating is also a proud “Cappy” to five beautiful grandchildren, a role that brings him endless joy and pride.
