An historic village in the town of Mount Desert, Hall Quarry is minutes from Echo Lake and Long Pond. Many of Acadia National Park’s offerings are nearby, such as the trails of Acadia, St. Sauveur, and Beech Mountains. The towns of Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor and Bar Harbor are all within a ten to fifteen minute drive, and a rich history of the local granite industry has left several picturesque ponds and clearings in the area.
We loved our vacation at Acadia Lodge. The views were spectacular, the house had everything we needed, and we had access to ocean, kayaking, trails, biking, star gazing – you name it! After Bar Harbor, Somes Sound was a refreshing and peaceful retreat. We will absolutely come again. Perfect space for us!
We loved the very private Acadia Lodge! The views were gorgeous. The decks on 3 sides of the house meant beautiful views no matter where you were sitting. In the morning the sun came up over the mountain across the sound. You could hear and see the birds calling and the lobster boats chugging past. We felt very comfortable at this house – like a home away from home. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable while all being together. The dock added a place to hang out and go on the kayaks, go fishing, or jump in the water to cool off. Bonus was to meet the owner, super nice man who gave us some history of the area.
We loved the location of Acadia Lodge, not to mention the view. It was so quiet with stunning vistas everywhere you look. The house itself was very comfortable. We managed to get on Somes Sound for a day of kayaking, and we were able to find the Hall Quarry shortcut to the Acadia Mtn Trail, so hardly had to drive anywhere except for groceries.
Great location, view, grounds were spectacular, mountains and the sound. Front deck was perfect after a long day on the trails. Groceries and restaurants all near by.
August 2020.
The house was ideal – very private with a beautiful dock, yet close to Southwest Harbor. Kids loved watching the lobster boats from the house and dock. Picking wild blueberries out the front door was a bonus. The fire pit was terrific for grilling, s’mores and ghost stories.
