About this area
Bar Harbor’s village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park’s Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as ‘Bar Harbor’ are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes’ drive to the village center.

It was a wonderful week The views were spectacular and Sally made us feel comfortable from the first day
Only one suggestion to make the vacation perfect. The terms of the lease lead us to believe that people renting the Bagatelle Guest cottage had free access to the property and the shore regardless of whether there was anyone staying in the main house. This was not the impression we got when we were there. We were invited to use the space once when the owners were away all day. On another occasion, we asked permission. On other occasions went to the shore when we believed that the owners were absent. One of the main reasons we rent at this property is to be on the water’s edge.
The cottage was lovely, and the owners (Sally and Jerry Aron) were warm and welcoming. They have created a lovely environment in the cottage.
