About this area
Bar Harbor’s village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park’s Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as ‘Bar Harbor’ are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes’ drive to the village center.

What a great and QUIET getaway!! We loved the proximity to the water and Acadia! It was a wonderful home base! Loved the sky lights to see the stars! The sunsets were breathtaking!
We had a great stay at Bayview. Beautiful views from the deck. Close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
We’ve been renting Bayview Cottage (and so has my mom) since 2015, and it is always a fabulous experience. So much privacy and beautiful views make relaxation easy. Close proximity to the airport, Hulls Cove, and Bar Harbor. It is perfect. The only reason I didn’t want to leave a review was because I was worried it would be booked even more than it already is!
Bayview Cottage was just perfect. Please pass along our gratitude to the owners for allowing us to stay at their warm, cozy, beautiful camp. We loved all the wood, the decor, and the mid-mod Danish touches. It had absolutely everything we needed. My boys (and dogs) and I enjoyed every minute there. The stunning sunsets and stargazing from the deck. Watching the loons fish in the bay. Playing cards on the porch. Skipping stones and tidepooling at the beach. It was the perfect home base for hiking, kayaking, and exploring both sides of the island. Can’t tell you how much the peacefulness of Bayview Cottage was a blessing for us. Thank you.
I stayed here with my two boys for a week while they were at a climbing camp (and I had to work during the day). It worked really well for us, the wifi and cell service were great for working and there was plenty of space. We enjoyed the shorefront for swimming at high tide and it was quite private. It happened to be a very hot week and there are several skylights so it was a bit warm in the cottage but lots of fans helped to cool it down at night. Great location being close to Hulls Cove Acadia entrance and not far from NE Harbor or Bar Harbor.
