Bar Harbor’s village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park’s Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as ‘Bar Harbor’ are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes’ drive to the village center.
Lovely, clean home with a great location. Plenty of towels and paper supplies for a family vacation. Stunning roses, hydrangeas and other plantings.
This house was perfect for our family of 5 adult couples and our 4 grandchildren. Everything you could need in an extremely well furnished kitchen. Great front porch for sitting and recapping the day’s activities. Everyone enjoyed our stay here. All the comforts you could ask for. Very close to the Shore Path and a short walk to anywhere in downtown Bar Harbor.
We had a wonderful time at Brightholme. Loved everything about the house, especially the front porch. There were four generations of our family staying here (14 people) and plenty of room to spread out or hang out together. The location is perfect, easy access to both the Shore Path and downtown Bar Harbor. The house was well stocked, clean and the bedrooms comfortable. The management company was responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend a stay at Brightholme.
Perfect for a large family gathering. Lots of common space, lots of yard space and perfect location to town and the Shore Path. Front porch is great for people watching and watching the kids in the yard. Love this house!
This was our second year of staying at Brightholme with our three generation family. Location is so perfect. With the living room and generous “family” room there was plenty of space to spread around and enjoy each other’s company. We also enjoyed having morning coffee/tea on the front porch and waving “hi” or “good morning” to other morning walkers with its access to the Shore Path. With the multiple bedrooms and new addition of a full bath downstairs, space for everyone is never an issue. Highly recommend for large families.
