Bar Harbor’s village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park’s Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as ‘Bar Harbor’ are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes’ drive to the village center.
Enjoyed the area and the home. Great view, spacious and comfortable house. Small alarm problem when arrived and owners were VERY prompt and friendly in fixing the problem.
We visited Eden Rock in the early summer of 2017. Right away we were impressed by
the spectacular view. We found the house to have plenty of room for our family and our
extended family during our vacation. We enjoyed gathering together on the main
floor/kitchen area at the end of each day to talk about everything we had explored in
the area. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals while we shared
our stories.
My husband and I found so much to do with our elementary age children. They enjoyed
exploring the shore line in front of the house looking for shells and sea glass. Being able
to see the sunrise from our bedroom windows was amazing. Eden Rock is just a short
drive to the entrance to Acadia National Park. It was an easy drive to find a place to
hike or sightsee each day. It was such a refreshing switch from our typical beach
vacation. We can’t wait to go back!
The house is beautiful and so comfortable and the kitchen is amazing. You cannot find a better house to be in than Eden Rock, it has everything!! We immediately felt welcome with the special touches left by the owners. The location is private and peaceful and the view of the sea is spectacular. It is close to the entrance of Acadia and just a short drive to downtown Bar Harbor and all it has to offer. This made it so easy for the family to enjoy all of these places every day.
The occasional visit of the bald eagle in the nearby pine trees added to the excitement for everyone. There is plenty of room outside on the patio for picnics and to view the beautiful sunrise in the morning. It was a perfect week with lots of great memories.
We can’t wait to go back someday soon.
