Known as the ‘Gateway to Acadia,’ Trenton, Lamoine, Prospect Harbor and other mainland communities enjoy proximity to Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park, with access to the expansive Union River Bay and Mt. Desert Narrows. Appreciated for being away from the crowds, this area is home to several local lobster pounds and close to Ellsworth dining. Many homes in this area enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Desert’s peaks, and swimming is generally warmer in the bay waters. Lamoine’s public sandy beach, Trenton Community Trails, Wild Acadia Fun Park, and the Stanwood Bird Sanctuary are just a few of its many attractions!
Our stay at “Lee by the Sea” was absolutely lovely. The home is beautiful, so comfortable and more than well equipped thru out. The sunsets are
gorgeous. Great location for kayaking, paddle boarding & hiking in Acadia. We’re grateful for such a fantastic vacation!
