Bar Harbor’s village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park’s Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as ‘Bar Harbor’ are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes’ drive to the village center.
This was our first trip to Maine. We loved the house, its location, and the endless opportunities for recreation in the area. The pictures of the house don’t do it justice. It’s charming, spacious, and well appointed. The location can’t be beat. A less than ten minute walk into Bar Harbor and a 15 minute bike ride to Acadia National Park and the carriage roads for biking or walking. The rental agent who helped us was extremely helpful in helping us find the house which met our needs and recommending things to do in the area, including a variety of activities and restaurants. We would definitely stay at Moore Guest Cottage again. June, 2023
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect, the house was comfortable, and the parking was convenient. We loved sitting in the big room in the evenings looking at our pictures and talking about our day. We would recommend this house to our friends.
This was the first vacation where we took our grown children with spouses and our grandson and we couldn’t have stayed in a more perfect house! It was beautiful, warm and spacious, well equipped and more beautiful in person than in the photos. The location was so convenient to the town and to Acadia National Park.
We had a wonderful stay and it started with the home we rented for the week. It was even better than the pictures; clean, orderly and very open spaces. The yard and patio were very inviting and we spent a lot of time enjoying that part of the property. Bar Harbor is an incredible place to vacation and the Moore Guest Cottage made the stay just that much better. If you have four or more people in your group, consider this location for your stay. It was convenient to the down town area and was just a couple minutes walk to all the shops and a few minutes drive to the National Park.
Wonderful spacious home. Unusually comfortable. Enjoyed the propane fireplace. King sized bed very comfortable.
