Random Ridge is a beautiful summer cottage located on a wooded slope on the quiet side of Northeast Harbor. Originally built as a rustic lodge in 1885, and expanded in 1910 into a summer “cottage,” this inviting retreat offers a home base with easy access to Acadia National Park and the surrounding towns. The peaceful setting and well-appointed home make this a magical spot day and night. Random Ridge has many spaces to investigate and enjoy. In the main house, start your morning in the bright kitchen. Host a lobster dinner for 10 in the dining room. Settle by a cozy fire for an evening of board games in the living room. Out on the wrap around furnished porch, listen for lobster boats chugging out from the harbor in the morning, and count sailboats heading out in the afternoon. Take your pick from eight bedrooms in the main house and two more in The Lodge.

FIRST FLOOR: Inviting Living Room with harbor views and wood burning fireplace leads out to the furnished covered porch overlooking the garden and natural landscape. Adjacent to the living room, with access to the kitchen, sits a lovely Dining Room with bay window and seating for ten. Bright, roomy Kitchen with wood stove and a breakfast table for eight, bar stools and a center island stove top with double ovens, pantry and fully equipped for cooking, baking and entertaining. Step up and then three steps down to a Bedroom with Queen bed and semi-private bath with clawfoot tub and after-thought shower. Beyond the kitchen, pass through the mudroom to a rustic, but large Laundry Room offering an added on Shower Room with vanity and a separate Water Closet with commode. Back porch stocked with wood.

SECOND FLOOR: Bedroom with Queen bed, water views, and private Bath with tub and after-thought shower. Primary Bedroom with Queen bed, balcony porch, his and hers closets and water views. Bedroom with Double bed. Pass through Bedroom with Queen bed leads to another pass through Bedroom with Single bed. Shared hallway Bathroom offers a walk-in shower. The far wing offers two additional Bedrooms – the first with a set of Twins and and the second with a set of Twins and a Double (a wash basin in the hallway is shared).

THE LODGE: From the covered porch, wander down the covered passageway to the Lodge. Built before the house, the Lodge is a world to itself. This nostalgic and unique feature of Random Ridge serves well for additional gathering space or as a guest cottage. The spacious Great Room offers furnishings surrounding a large stone fireplace and a dining area with window seats and table for eight. Two more bedrooms (one bigger, one smaller), with Queen bed and a converted drawing room with Single bed. Bathroom with combined tub and shower. Open the French doors to a small porch and walk down a few steps to the garden.

OUTDOOR SPACES: A wraparound furnished covered porch with furnishings and nice harbor views overlooks a small lawn as well as the natural forest landscape that enhances the privacy of Random Ridge.
