With just a short walk to pretty Long Pond, you can enjoy swimming, fishing, and rent a canoe or kayak. Walk or bike just 1 1/2 miles to catch the free Island Explorer bus.

FIRST FLOOR: Large sunny Great Room with Living/Dining/Kitchen area, lot of windows, dining table and comfortable furnishings for eight people. Large flat-screen TV. Sitting area also has futon sleep sofa to accommodate two additional people. From Living area, relax and enjoy a good book on the large screened porch with furnishings. Large Primary suite Bedroom with private entrance, King bed, couch, table nook, and private full Bath with combination tub and shower, and garden views. Bedroom with Twin beds with view to meadow. Bedroom with Queen bed and sunny view to garden. Full Bath with claw foot tub and shower.

PORCH: Seasonal screened porch with glass panels and furnishings. Also four garden chairs.

EXTRAS: Air-conditioning via two mini-split heat/AC pumps, garage space for storing bikes, kayaks and canoes.

Ripples was perfect for our family. The boys loved sharing the kids’ bedroom and my spouse and I loved having a bedroom retreat. Having a washer and dryer on the same floor is so helpful! Plus, the porch was so pleasant when there was a nice evening breeze.

Somesville was the first village settled on Mount Desert Island in 1761 and is now a National Historic District. Walking or driving through the village is like stepping back in time, with sights of beautifully preserved examples of early New England architecture and a charming mill pond. The year round population of about 800 residents enjoy close proximity to Acadia National Park, Echo Lake, Somes Pond, and Long Pond. With its central location, all of Mt.
