We are falling in love with undiscovered and charming Prospect Harbor, and we’re pretty sure you will too once you have the chance to enjoy this sweet oceanside cottage! Just minutes from Winter Harbor’s passenger ferry to Bar Harbor, you can skip the traffic and parking to access all of Acadia’s treasures via the free Island Explorer Shuttle. Acadia’s lesser known treasure, Schoodic Peninsula, is just a short drive away as is the Sunrise Trail, a restored biking trail perfect for exploring the blueberry barrens of inland Maine. Some of our favorite restaurants – the Crocker House Inn, Ruth and Wimpy’s, and the Pickled Wrinkle – are all close by for local dining adventures. Central AC and heat make this spot comfortable for your stay no matter the season!
FIRST FLOOR: Enter to the open Combined Living Area with a wall of windows overlooking the shoreline and vaulted ceiling. The Kitchen Area features a center island with two counter seats, updated appliances, and plenty of counter space for meal prep. Dining Table seats six comfortably. Living area features a propane powered fire place, ceiling fan, and large screen TV. To the right are two bedrooms, one with Queen Bed and ceiling fan, one with Twin Beds and ceiling fan. Both bedrooms share a Full Bath with combined tub and shower and Laundry area.
SECOND FLOOR: Stairs lead to a lofted area overlooking the Living Area and a Bedroom with Queen Bed, vaulted ceiling and ceiling fan, TV, large closet, and en suite Full Bath with tiled stall shower.
OUTDOOR SPACES: Sliding doors lead from the Living Area to furnished front deck overlooking the water. Shoreline is a mix of rocky shale and granite outcroppings with southwesterly views of Schoodic Peninsula and open ocean beyond. This area is relatively protected and appropriate for launching kayaks, exploring the tidal shoreline, or simply soaking up the views. Yard area behind the house, plus a fire pit close to water’s edge. Enjoy star gazing with little to no light pollution!
NOTE: Next door and behind this property is the owner’s residence. Available, but unobtrusive, consider them to be friendly neighbors who will let you enjoy your stay in peace!

Known as the ‘Gateway to Acadia,’ Trenton, Lamoine, Prospect Harbor and other mainland communities enjoy proximity to Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park, with access to the expansive Union River Bay and Mt. Desert Narrows. Appreciated for being away from the crowds, this area is home to several local lobster pounds and close to Ellsworth dining. Many homes in this area enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Desert’s peaks, and swimming is generally warmer in the bay waters. Lamoine’s public sandy beach, Trenton Community Trails, Wild Acadia Fun Park, and the Stanwood Bird Sanctuary are just a few of its many attractions!
