Northeast Harbor has the advantage of being quite close to Acadia National Park’s Stanley Brook entrance, not to mention the appeal of the grand, historic summer cottage estates, some of which date to the turn of the century. Northeast Harbor offers high end shopping plus some dining opportunities and boasts an active library, community center, public tennis courts and golf course, and a premier marina.
We love this comfortable and spacious house. It’s a joy to walk 3 minutes to the pretty village of Northeast Harbor for groceries, pastries, shopping, or dinner out. This house has wonderful primary bedrooms (several!) and lovely smaller guest rooms, too. The vintage kitchen is well equipped. The nearby trails and sites make this a great place to stay.
Thanks for sharing your home with our family for a month! We loved the books in the library and handy access to trail maps and info on the area. During COVID, because Acadia was crowded, we enjoyed front door access to the less well known Schoolhouse Ledge trails with their views (Somes Sound!), caves, & waterfall. On cool evenings we gathered around the fireplace to catch up with each other. It was great to have the large deck for al fresco dining and when friends came over so we could social distance outside. Provided everything we needed for a great vacation.
August and September 2020.
Skyview was lovely – great location, beautiful setting, and very well equipped. We hosted 15 people for a Lobster dinner one night no problem!
We loved the house. It was well stocked and nicely furnished. We really appreciated the location, and the nice comfortable house. We would love to return to this house!
