Northeast Harbor has the advantage of being quite close to Acadia National Park’s Stanley Brook entrance, not to mention the appeal of the grand, historic summer cottage estates, some of which date to the turn of the century. Northeast Harbor offers high end shopping plus some dining opportunities and boasts an active library, community center, public tennis courts and golf course, and a premier marina.

We have stayed at Summit Cottage the past six years. It has always been a very comfortable home in which to vacation, and this year became more so with major renovation to the second full bathroom. Initially we went with friends, and this year we went with our daughter, son in law and their little girl. We enjoyed introducing a new generation to the wonders of Acadia.
We’ve been visiting Acadia National Park for many years and found the Summit Cottage in 2021. It has become our home away from home for us and our friends. The home and Northeast Harbor provide a quiet and relaxing alternative to the crowds and congestion of Bar Harbor.
Simply a really wonderful time being with children and grandchildren
