Sunset Farm West

This lovely and historic farmhouse offers stunning and expansive westerly views across meadows to the distant mainland hills. As the name suggest, this property is perfect for sunset “junkies,” who are sure to enjoy nature’s daily display. And with unobstructed views at night, this home is also a perfect spot for stargazing! Beech Mountain Hiking trail is less than a mile down the road, and many other park attractions are within a 5 to 25 minute drive. Southwest Harbor’s village center for groceries, shopping, and dining out is a ten-minute drive away. Note that its sister property, Sunset Farm East, is attached to this home and will likely be occupied during your stay, but guests will still be able to enjoy a sense of privacy and quiet in this lovely property. During the off-season, electric baseboard heat keeps this home cozy for cooler weather.

FIRST FLOOR: Entrance leads to a Living Room with fireplace and beautiful landscape and seascape murals of Mt. Desert Island. From this room, a door leads to the covered porch. To the right of the Living area is a Bedroom with Twin Beds and door to the porch. Just beyond the Living area is an updated Full Bath with combined tub and shower. Next is a combined Sitting and Dining Area with small table overlooking the hills which can expand easily to seat 8 people. Well-equipped Kitchen leads to a Laundry area shared with “Sunset Farm East,” and serving as a “buffer” between the two residences.

SECOND FLOOR: Stairs from the Living Room lead to two Bedrooms, one with a Queen Bed and one with Twin Beds. These bedrooms share a “jack and jill” Full Bath between them with a tub only. Both bedrooms have distant mountain and rural views.

OUTDOOR SPACES: Covered porch with westerly views and furnishings for dining and seating overlook a spacious lawn and fields beyond. With its hilltop setting, this home always enjoys cool breezes, especially in the evening.
