Bar Harbor’s village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park’s Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as ‘Bar Harbor’ are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes’ drive to the village center.
We had a great experience for adults and kids! The house had everything and was spacious enough to hold our large family. The views were great and the dock was absolutely amazing! The kids went fishing off the dock for hours and played lacrosse in the large backyard. And we were able to explore the whole East side of MDI and Frenchman’s Bay with our powerboat that we brought up for the week. It was great memories for all, and we would be excited to come back again in future years!
The Bayview was massive. The location was superb. The dock was a huge hit with everyone. The kitchen was fantastic. Our stay will always be one the most memorable for our family. My son got engaged during one of our Acadia hikes! We all hope to someday visit again! Definitely recommend for large groups! Thanks to Keri for making this happen for us!
Excellent house and KITCHEN. With 16 it was easy to prepare meals on the 10 burner stove for everyone. Plenty of seating. We rented a boat for the week and docked at the house. Perfect. Burned wood every night in the fire pit and told tall tales with a sprinkle of hyperbole. House was a little warm at times but we did have a hot streak when we first arrived. Great house for a large group.
The Bayview suited our needs very well and the location was wonderful. It was great to have access to the water and the space we needed. We are already thinking of returning next year!
August 2020.
This was our third visit to The Bayview. It is a grand house with lots of space that easily accommodated our group of 16. We love the location of The Bayview with its close proximity to town and the beautiful setting right on Frenchman Bay. Probably our favorite part of the house is the kitchen. Invariably, everyone in our group ends up congregating in the kitchen and this kitchen is spacious enough to easily handle our large group without feeling crowded. We had a great week at The Bayview and plan on returning in 2019.
