The Lake House
Long Pond, ME 04660-
Beds: 1 Queen, 1 Single
We just love this stunning architectural gem poised at water’s edge on beautiful Long Pond! Floor to ceiling windows embrace its spectacular view and flood this lovely home with light, while the prevailing breezes of the pond create a cool and comfortable space. Traveling in the fall? The wood stove will keep you warm and cozy! Perfect for two to the three people, this little lakeside jewel box is a private retreat for those looking for the perfect getaway without compromising style and comfort.
FIRST FLOOR: Enter the home from either the drive-side entry through a mud-room/hallway for jackets and shoes, or from the deck-side glass door into an open, combined Living/Dining Room and Kitchen with a wall of windows directly overlooking Long Pond. Small wood stove, concrete floors, warm and inviting sitting spaces, and dining table that comfortably seats 8 are just a few of the inviting features of this open space. While the Kitchen area is relatively small and offers slightly limited appliances (two-burner cooktop and counter top convection oven plus microwave), the ability to create a meal with the backdrop of the lake’s lapping waters and mountains beyond really can’t be beat.
Off the Living Room is a Study with Twin beds and a clever window that looks across the living area and to the view. Just beyond the Dining Area is a walk-through Laundry Room with stackable washer/dryer that leads to a Full Bath with shower stall. Past the Kitchen, enter a sun-drenched Primary Bedroom with Queen Bed, large windows overlooking the lake (not to worry – black-out shades allow you to sleep in if you prefer!) and a door leading to a private deck, perfect for a morning cup of coffee, or early morning swim. Note that there is no standard drip coffee maker, instead you’ll find an electric espresso maker and various sizes of Melita filters for making drip coffee.
OUTDOOR SPACES: Deck with outdoor furnishings for dining, relaxing, or soaking up the sun and views. Partially wooded surroundings offer complete privacy. A slight scramble across the lakeside rocks leads to a small dock and float where you can launch a kayak or enjoy a brisk swim. Note that kayaks which appear in the photos are not available for tenant use.
PLEASE NOTE: With its close proximity to the water and lack of deck rails, this home is unsafe for very young children. No TV – bring your online account passwords to view your favorite shows and movies on your devices! Due to the shared septic system, occupancy will be limited to two people if more than three people are occupying the neighboring property, The Triangle House. Can be rented in combination with The Triangle House next door for a maximum occupancy of six people.
