This charming cottage overlooks Gilpatrick Cove and enjoys a convenient in-town location with proximity to the Northeast Harbor Fleet. With its unique location, The Wedge wrap-around porch provides spectacular views, capturing all the activities in Gilpatrick Cove, at the Fleet and beyond. Featured in “Maine Cottages” by John M. Bryan, The Wedge was originally designed as a summer cottage by noted architect Fred L. Savage in 1885, as part of the Rock End Hotel built by Herman L. Savage between 1883 and 1884. Today, in addition to the Wedge, this property also includes a smaller cottage, The Shim, which is perfect for accommodating extra guests.

Every little detail was just perfect and I probably don’t have enough words to express how much I loved staying there. I have been renting in NEH for 20 years and must say that this wonderful home has everything without being too much. From the special touches like the stacked firewood waiting upon our arrival, to the simple garden with flowers still in bloom…I appreciate all of the little details that make this iconic!
