About this area
Mt. Desert Island’s second largest village, Southwest Harbor, features a charming Main Street with an appealing assortment of shops and restaurants. The neighboring village of Manset, which is along the southern shore of the harbor, tends to be rural in nature but features a number of excellent restaurants and boatyards, including Hinckley Yacht Yard and Morris Yachts, both of which boast an international reputation. If Bar Harbor is the ‘gateway’ to Acadia, Southwest Harbor is the gateway to Acadia’s westside trails and attractions, including Seawall, Ship’s Harbor, and Echo Lake, all between five and eight minutes from the village center.

What a gem! House is in a perfect setting – quick walk to Main Street and all the shops and restaurants. Kitchen is perfectly equipped and has ample storage space for your dry goods and groceries. Deck is quiet and grill works super well. I highly recommend this home!
This is a very comfortable house in a great location. The house is fully equipped with a great kitchen, nice deck, comfortable furniture, books, etc. A short stroll to the shops and restaurants of Southwest Harbor and local walks, and short drive to everything else MDI and Acadia National Park have to offer. Our third or fourth time staying in Wesley and we would definitely go back!
Fabulous vacation rental in a great location that was convienient for easy walks into the town and marina at Southwest harbor and also for lots of trips out to the local attractions. Would highly recommend this property for a family, lots of space, super comfy beds, very clean and tidy and lots of character an charm. All in all a fantastic vacation, we will be back!
August 2020.
Grandchildren from the city loved seeing the deer especially when it followed them to the corner ice cream store. We also loved the closeness to the shops, restaurants and ice cream shops in Southwest Harbor. Our granddaughter went to the Wendell Gilley museum and had a bird carving lesson that she loved.
